"It's been a great run, and I've been very fortunate to work in the same town for 40 years," Tom O'Neal, said about his plans to retire in July ... KTVI also announced it has hired Vic Faust as O'Neal's replacement. Faust starts April 13, 2015 as a reporter. He comes to the station from WXYZ in Detroit where he co-anchors the morning and noon news.

Brand Manager Dan Spadafora announced today the hiring of long-time area broadcaster Mary Ellen Murphy as morning news anchor for 1450 WHTC. Murphy brings over 30 years of broadcasting experience to the station. Her career has included stops in Grand Rapids and Muskegon doing news and on air work.

Shortly after the launch of the station as "92.1 The Ticket", WQTX changed its branding to "The Team". Why the change? CBS Sports "97.1 The Ticket" WXYT-FM Detroit has the Michigan trademark for the Ticket name.

Traverse City Record-Eagle:
Radio station WLDR is off the air but plans to return to action in a few days. The signal broke off on Jan. 21 after a water pipe froze and failed, causing serious flooding damage to the station's studio. We're hoping to be back on the air by early next week," said spokesman Ryan Henderson.
