Inside Radio:

Today a five-acre mostly vacant site two blocks from the Michigan Capitol is an environmentally contaminated piece of land. But in the coming years the Lansing parcel will become a state of the art new home for the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. MAB's board has approved buying the property with preliminary plans for a 9,000 square foot headquarters.

Fine Tuning:

  • Flipping on Friday: Cumulus Media's WMIM-FM 98.3 Luna Pier / Toledo to Country/Classic Country 'Nash Icon' from Adult Contemporary. Although the station's transmitter is now located in Ohio, the station will be marketed towards Monroe, as evidenced in this statement from Program Director / morning host Chris King: "Nash Icon is an exciting new format and the perfect fit for Monroe and Monroe County. This station will proudly serve Monroe, Monroe County and Southeastern Michigan with the music that listeners love and our continued commitment to the community. I am very happy to be a part of this new chapter in Monroe radio."
  •

  • Still broadcasting: Kids-targeted WFDF AM 910 Farmington Hills/Detroit will remain on the air with its Radio Disney format instead of going off the air, as had been previously reported. Disney is planning on selling all but one of its Radio Disney radio stations as it moves to a digital delivery strategy.
