WMXD-FM 92.3 and WJLB-FM 97.9 are teaming up today with the Salvation Army, in partnership with McDonald’s, to collect donations in efforts to aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina. WMXD and WJLB will broadcast simultaneously from two different McDonald’s locations to collect donations. McDonald’s at 3975 Conner Street, in Detroit AND McDonald’s at 9815 Grand River Avenue in Detroit. Station personalities and local recording artists will be on-site to show their support and be apart of the effort, including, Derrick Coleman, Karen Clark-Sheard, Pastor J. Drew Sheard, J.Moss, Dorinda Clark Cole, and many others. One hundred percent of donations will respond to the needs of those affected by Hurricane Katrina.
