Sales and Transactions: week of Jan 25, 2006




* Midwest Communications has agreed to purchase Kalamazoo stations Adult Contemporary WQLR-FM 106.5, News-Talk WKZO-AM 590, Talk WKLZ-AM 1470, and Sports WQSN-AM 1660 from Fairfield Broadcasting for $13.25 million, pending FCC approval and closing.

Local radio stations may get new ownership (Kalamazoo Gazette), Midwest Buys Fairfield's Kalamazoo Cluster (Radio and Records)

* Citadel Broadcasting has exercised its $400,000 option on the purchase of Sports WEFG-FM 97.5 Muskegon from Unity Broadcasting. Citadel acquired the option to buy WEFG as part of a larger deal in late 2004 that moved FM 92.5 Newaygo, WLCS-FM 98.3, WSHN-FM 100.1, and WUBR-AM 1490, all also in the Muskegon area, to Citadel. The exercise of the option to purchase WEFG needs FCC approval before closing.

* The FCC approved the sale of WTNP-FM 91.9 Richland from Living Proof Inc to Horizon Christian Fellowship. The $250,000 deal was announced in December 2005.
