MAB Foundation Board of Directors Elects New Officers




The Michigan Association of Broadcasters' (MAB) Foundation recently elected 2006 officers during the Foundation Board of Directors meeting at the Great Lakes Broadcasting Conference held at the Lansing Center in downtown Lansing on March 13 and 14. Officers, who are elected to a one-year term include:

Chairman Bill Keith, Station Manager of WSDP 88.1 FM since 1991. The Plymouth-Canton Community School owned station was named the Michigan Association of Broadcasters “High School Station of the Year” in 2001 and 2002. While at WSDP, Keith has served in many positions on the Board of the Michigan Association of Educational Broadcasters, including President since 2001. Keith previously served as an Account Executive at WGRY in Grayling, Michigan.

Vice Chairman Gary Reid, Director of the Careers and Internships Office for Michigan State University's Telecommunication Department. Reid is also the General Manager of WDBM “IMPACT 89FM” and directs a staff of approximately 150 students.

Secretary/Treasurer Chris Monk, Vice President/General Manager of Northern Star Broadcasting in Traverse City/Petoskey since 1998. Monk previously served as General Sales Manager for The Journal Broadcast Group in Tucson, Arizona, and as General Sales Manager/Corporate Trainer for Prism Radio Partners in Louisville, Kentucky.

The MAB Foundation Board also elected Dana Hughes to a three-year term as a director. Hughes serves as Radio Program Manager of Golightly Career and Technical Center in Detroit.
