WMGC-FM, Magic 105.1, will hold its first-ever Wine Tasting Event from 7-10pm on Friday, April 7th, 2006 at the Marble & Granite Gallery on Telegraph Rd. (between 8 and 9 Mile Roads) in Southfield. The event will feature hors d'oeuvres over 10 types of wines that will be showcased with experts on-hand to educate attendees about the specific types featured at the event. Additionally, there will be a silent auction with proceeds benefiting the American Heart Association. The event will be hosted by the Magic Morning Show's Linda Lanci and other Magic 105.1 personalities. Listeners will not be able to purchase tickets to this event- instead they will have to listen to the station for details on how to win entry.
Tuesday's monthly Arbitrend radio report card for December, January and February shows Santa Claus continued to deliver for soft-rocker WNIC-FM. Still buoyed by high numbers for its December holiday music, it clung to the No. 1 position among all listeners 12 and older. But the end is near -- the December numbers get factored out next month. There are plenty of interesting numbers throughout this report. Country WYCD-FM surged to No. 2 overall and to No 3 in the key age 25-54 demographic. That's the station's highest ranking in eons... The Tigers decided Tuesday to end negotiations with TV20, which stood to televise a package of "free" TV games similar to the block of telecasts that once aired on Channel 50. "We were notified today by the Tigers that they opted not to move forward with our proposal," said Sarah Norat-Phillips, TV20 general manager.
