"It was the greatest night of my life," veteran radio newsman Les Root said of his induction into the Michigan Journalism Hall of Fame. The 50-year radio news veteran - the only full-time radio news man left in Flint - attended the ceremony last Saturday at Michigan State University with his wife, extended family and several old cohorts, including former fellow WFDF news team members Mark Tanner, David Leyton (now Genesee County prosecutor) and Bob Palawski.
"The (four) of us probably formed the core of FDF news in the '70s, our golden years," Root said fondly. .. Newsman Les Root honored (Fri 4/28)
