The series was written and produced for public radio by David Freudberg and will air on WDET on April 23 and April 30 from 11am to 1pm. Each part of the series looks at a different facet of the survivor experience.

Among the many voices taking part in the series, listeners will hear from Dr. Susan Gardin, who counsels pediatric cancer patients in Detroit; Dr. Herbert Benson, President, Harvard University Mind/Body Institute; Robert Schimmel, cancer survivor and comedian; Dr. Andrew Weil, medical author; Dr. David Rosenthal, former President of American Cancer Society; and Hal Ackerman, cancer survivor and UCLA film professor.

Details of each of the four parts of this series and specific air time is detailed below:

Part 4: The Power of Belief (airs Sunday, April 30 from 12pm to 1pm): Whether
or not people of faith, cancer patients go deeply into themselves to ponder their lives. A rabbi whose daughter died of cancer teaches martial arts to young patients, helping them find inner strength.
