Rick Bloom, the host of the Rick Bloom Show on WDTK-AM 1400 in Detroit and a financial columnist for the Oakland Press, will begin airing twice-daily business reports on Michigan Radio Network (MRN) affiliates throughout the state beginning Monday, May 1, 2006. The business updates will be heard daily before the stock market opens and after the market close.
Bloom, a recipient of Worth Magazine's “Top 250 Financial Planners”, will provide daily commentary on the stock market and economic conditions, financial planning tips and other business news that impacts Michiganders. He is an attorney and a CPA, and is a partner in Bloom Asset Management, Inc. in Farmington Hills.
“I look forward to doing these business updates each day, and I plan to make these segments more than just a standard stock market update,” Bloom said. “I pride myself in talking in simple terms about the stock market and finance, and I will relate changes in the market and economy to the listeners daily lives."
The Lansing-based Michigan Radio Network provides news and sports information to more than 60 radio stations throughout the state. The network will distribute two separate one-minute reports from Rick Bloom to its affiliates each business day. MRN News Director Rob Baykian said he looks forward to adding Bloom to the network's program line-up. “We're excited to have a highly respected business analyst such as Rick Bloom on the Michigan Radio Network,” said Baykian. “Rick provides us with an exclusive product that focuses on Michigan stocks and other business news.”
