Once again, X marks the spot for Detroit Tigers telecasts. WXSP-TV in Grand Rapids has acquired the over-the-air broadcast rights to 15 Tigers telecasts in the West Michigan market, beginning June 1, programming and operations director Craig Cole confirmed earlier this week. "I'm really happy to have the Tigers back. I wanted them back," Cole said. "We've had a lot of calls from the public looking for the Tigers to return"... WXSP bringing back Tigers to local airwaves (Fri 4/21)

Dave Jagger and Geri Jarvis signed off Friday morning at WLHT-FM (95.7) surrounded by their daughters, Kristen and Casey, friends and well-wishers. The husband-and-wife radio team made way for a new show to take the WLHT airwaves on Monday after contracts for the pair were not renewed by Regent Communications. Along with regular guests Ron VanTimmeren, of Jack Loeks Theatres; John Zimmerman, of Mercantile Bank (and formerly of Meijer Inc.); and Scott Lane, of the West Michigan Whitecaps; a number of others stopped by or called in... Many a fond farewell offered on Dave and Geri's last broadcast (Sat 4/22)

He writes and submits 50 jokes a week for the opening monologues of "The David Letterman Show," has been in radio broadcasting since the age of 13 and does impersonations of well-known personalities. She is a single mom to her 9-year-old son, believes in family-friendly radio and went back to school at 32, where she was the oldest person in her class at the Specs Howard School of Broadcasting. Together, Denis Prior, 46, and co-host Nanette, 41, will launch their new morning show at the New Lite Rock -- WLHT-FM (95.7) on Monday, taking the reins as Dave Jagger and Geri Jarvis depart after almost 20 years at the station... WGVU-TV (Channel 35) productions traveled to Poland in 2004 to produce and document the stories of three incredible individuals. The results were "Surviving Auschwitz: Children of the Shoah" and "Defying Hitler," documentaries that celebrate the human spirit and put a face on one of the worst atrocities ever committed by mankind ... Tower boosts TV8 in Muskegon: WOOD-TV (Channel 8) is getting a new tower to better serve viewers in the Muskegon area ... Mullen joins Fox in Chicago: Former Tribune Broadcasting President Patrick Mullen has been named vice president and general manager of Fox's Chicago duopoly, WFLD-TV and WPWR-TV... The mood was light-hearted this morning as long-time WLHT morning hosts Dave Jagger and Geri Jarvis said goodbye. Last week, they confirmed they could not come to terms on a new contract with the Regent Broadcasting station. So after 20 years of early mornings, the pair signed off. “If you know somebody, tell them we're out of work,” Jarvis said. Jagger added, “Yeah, please put in a good word for us.” They have not announced their future plans... Dave & Geri sign off (Fri 4/21)
