WIOG Doesn't Kid Around:
Congratulations to PD JERRY NOBLE, and the staff at CITADEL Top 40 WIOG/SAGINAW. Their recent CARES FOR KIDS radiothon for the CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK, raised $80,102 over four days for the nearby HURLEY MEDICAL CENTER. NOBLE told ALL ACCESS, "The listeners came together in a big way this year, which is really something, when you consider the hits our local economy has taken. Year after year, this staff does an amazing job putting everything together and making it happen. I'm so I'm so proud of them." Signs advising listeners to switch from WWCK-FM (105.5) to a station called the New 97.5 have been popping up in southwestern Genesee County. I saw one at the Meijer store on Hill Road in Mundy Township. At first, I thought a new station had signed on in Flint, but after sampling it, I realized it was a Lansing station. The New 97.5 is a contemporary hits (Top 40) station, just like CK 105, but in its heyday, it was Lansing's version of Oldies 96 (WHNN-FM, 96.1) until last September... Comcast Cable television subscribers will start seeing a blue screen instead of much of the programming on ABC affiliate WXYZ (Channel 7) starting Monday. Flint-based WJRT (Channel 12), also an ABC affiliate, has filed required paperwork with Comcast to block most duplicate programming from Detroit-based WXYZ, said Comcast spokesman Jerome Espy. Earlier this year, WJRT received federal approval for the maneuver, which is known as a nonduplication agreement... Comcast subscribers losing Detroit's WXYZ Monday (Sat 5/13)
