MAB Foundation Golf Event to Support Future Scholarships, Internships And Broadcast Education
Former Detroit Tiger pitcher Milt Wilcox will be a special guest at the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Foundation (MABF) Golf Scramble Fundraiser, scheduled from 7:30 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, July 25 on the Monument Course at Boyne Mountain Resort in Harbor Springs, Michigan. The MABF 2006 Golf Scramble Fundraiser is an 18-hole event raising money to support the Foundation's program to offer scholarships, internships and other educational opportunities to young people seeking a career in the broadcast industry. The event is part of the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Annual Meeting & Leadership Retreat to be held Monday, July 24 through Wednesday, July 26 at Boyne Mountain Resort.
Milt Wilcox's 20-year baseball career began with the Cleveland Indians and the Chicago Cubs, prior to joining the Tigers in 1976. After retiring from baseball, Milt started his own baseball clinic called the Detroit Batting Academy, which he continues to run today. Wilcox also operates “Milt Wilcox's Ultimate Air Dogs,” in which he trains dogs to compete in distance jumping competitions around the country.
Tee times are still available for the MABF Golf Scramble fundraiser. The $150 fee includes 18 holes of golf, cart and lunch. MABF also has limited hole sponsorship opportunities remaining at a cost of $250 per hole. Registration and sponsorship information is available at www.michmab.com.
