Proceeds of 5th Annual “Women Who Make Magic®” Awards to benefit HAVEN

WMGCThe 5th Annual Women Who Make Magic Awards® Banquet and Dinner will be held on Monday, June 12th, at the Andiamo Celebrity Showroom on 14 Mile in Warren. Doors open at 6:30pm and the event starts at 7pm sharp. Tickets are $35 and may be purchased at the Andiamo Celebrity Showroom Box Office in Warren or by calling 586-268-3200. This year's entertainment comes from former New Kids on The Block member, Jordan Knight. The 5th Annual Women Who Make Magic Awards program is sponsored by HAP, Kroger, Wright & Filippis, Gordon Chevrolet, Walsh College and Andiamo Italia in Warren.

A portion of ticket sales for the 5th Annual Women Who Make Magic Awards® Banquet and Dinner will go to HAVEN. HAVEN's mission is to eliminate domestic violence and sexual assault through treatment and prevention services throughout Oakland County and surrounding communities.

HAVEN was founded in 1975 as the first and only sexual assault counseling center in Oakland County. In 1977 HAVEN broadened services to include domestic violence services. Today all of HAVEN's programs provide specialized, comprehensive services in the areas of domestic violence and sexual assault. HAVEN's support services include: 24 Hour Crisis and Support Line, Residential Program, Advocacy Program, START (Safe Therapeutic Assault Response Team).

In addition to donating money from the ticket sales, there will be a 50/50 auction at the 5th Annual Women Who Make Magic Awards® Banquet and Dinner to help raise funds for HAVEN.



WRIF to select one couple to “Get Hitched at Harleyfest” by Penhallow

WRIFActive Rock WRIF-FM 101.1 Detroit afternoon drive host for over 35 years, “Big Daddy” Arthur Penhallow, will host a wedding ceremony this summer that one lucky couple will not soon forget: a biker wedding at Motor City Harley Davidson's Harleyfest 2006. Over the next two weeks, WRIF will encourage listeners to sign on to the station's website at www.wrif.com and tell us their love story and why they should be chosen as the couple who will “Get hitched at Harleyfest”.

Their wedding day on June 17th, 2006, will begin with a front of the line spot for their motorcycle(s) in the “Ride for Hope”, benefiting Karmanos Cancer Institute, which will depart from Motor City Harley Davidson at 11am. They will ride with over 1,200 participants to this year's Motor City Harley Davidson Harleyfest at Freedom Hill. After a day of enjoying great live music, food and festivities, the couple will be married amongst a sea of motorcycles, with Arthur Penhallow to preside over their service. In addition, the couple will receive wedding bands, flowers for the ceremony, a photographer and a reception dinner for themselves and 20 friends to take place at Harleyfest. They'll also win a gift voucher for a honeymoon in Las Vegas.

Harley Fest is an all-day event that will gather Harley-Davidson® fans from all over as they come together to celebrate great music, great food and great bikes. All bikes are welcome as the party kicks off at 11am on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at Freedom Hill Park, located at Metro Parkway and Schoenherr in Sterling Heights. Admission to the festival in the park is always free and will again feature a live music stage with some of Detroit's hottest local bands.

Lou Perry joins Ann Arbor's WLBY-AM 1290

Beginning June 3rd, Lou Perry joins Ann Arbor's Air America Liberal Radio Station WLBY-AM 1290. Most recently Lou was a highly rated Talk Show Host at cross-town WAAM-AM. Prior radio experience includes WABC-AM Radio, New York and WJR-AM Radio, Detroit. The Saturday program live and local at 9 AM and is focused on the Ann Arbor Area. Special and informative guests that affect life in Washtenaw County. “I call the program Logic Radio; I live for why not -- not, what if", comments Perry. The show will feature local guests, local topics, local laughs and plenty of other local information.

A man has been arrested for the theft of the WJLB 97.9 FM DaimlerChrysler Magnum. Detroit Police arrested a suspect recently after receiving a tip through Crime Stoppers. Trapane Named PD At WDTW: As ALL ACCESS hinted, CLEAR CHANNEL Country WDTW (106.7 THE FOX)/DETROIT has named JOHN TRAPANE as PD. TRAPANE held the same position at the Classic Rock format the station had before flipping to Country earlier this month (5/19). Previously, TRAPANE worked at HOUSTON Country stations KIKK-FM, KILT and KKBQ as well as doing promotion for GIANT and DREAMCATCHER RECORDS in NASHVILLE.

WDTW Looking To Hire: As ALL ACCESS reported last week, CLEAR CHANNEL Classic Hits WDTW/DETROIT changed formats to Country per the listeners requests. Maxine Michaels Exits WGPR/Detroit: WGPR INC. Urban AC WGPR (RHYTHM 107.5)/DETROIT has terminated veteran MOTOR CITY midday air-personality MAXINE MICHAELS, claiming she was unable or refused to follow the format. No official word yet on her replacement.
