Local sports leader WBBL-AM (1340) struck a deal to be a secondary radio home for the Detroit Tigers the rest of the season. You might call it a summer time share. In cooperation with WMFN-AM (640), WBBL picked up 17 regular-season Tigers games, beginning with Wednesday's 1:05 p.m. interleague contest against the Houston Astros at Comerica Park... Stations team to add 17 Tigers games to radio lineup (Fri 6/23)

Now we see how the six power conferences will keep the Division I caste system in place, even after newfangled Bowl Championship Series expansion and old-fashioned NCAA tournament inclusion have exposed the competitive depth of revenue-producing college sports. They will do it same as always, through more revenue production than others can produce, by deriving cash from conspiratorial media partners... Big Ten plugged in with TV deal (Sun 6/25)


"The Money Pit" Adds Affiliates:
New affiliates for syndicated home improvement show "THE MONEY PIT" include WXLM-F/NEW LNONDON, CT, WGIR-A and simulcasters WGIP-A and WGIN-A/MANCHESTER, NH, and WPNW-A (1260 THE PLEDGE)/GRAND RAPIDS. The show, hosted by NEW JERSEY's own TOM KRAEUTLER with LESLIE SEGRETE, airs on over 170 stations and the DISCOVERY RADIO NETWORK. (Mon 6/19)

WOOD Names Tim Kiesling PD:
CLEAR CHANNEL AC WOOD (STAR 105.7)/GRAND RAPIDS welcomes sister SAN ANTONIO cluster Dir./Marketing/News/Talk WOAI-A and WOAI-TV/SAN ANTONIO air-talent/fill-in Sports Anchor TIM KIESLING for PD duties, replacing JOHN PATRICK. KIESLING previously worked in the area at WJIM and WFMK/LANSING, MI and will continue his weekend job announcing the marching band for MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY. (Tue 6/20)

Battle Creek AM Plans Sports Flip:
ALL ACCESS hears that CLEAR CHANNEL Adult Standards WRCC-A (UNFORGETTABLE 1400 AM)/BATTLE CREEK is planning a flip to Sports using PREMIERE's JIM ROME and FOX SPORTS RADIO effective AUGUST 1. (Tue 6/20)
