Ann Arbor News:

WEMU (89.1 FM), the public radio station at Eastern Michigan University, has launched an unusual summer fund drive to raise money to offset anticipated funding reductions from the state for the next fiscal year. The station is hoping for $3,000 in pledges each day this month, for a total of $93,000. "It's a soft fund drive. We don't have volunteers answering the phone,'' said station manager Art Timko. "We're just asking people to call or go on line... WEMU launches soft fund campaign (Wed 7/12)
