Fred McLeod, the longtime WDIV-TV (Local 4) sportscaster, is leaving the station later this year. He also won't return as FSN Pistons play-by-play man next season, media relations director Tim Bryant confirmed. "Fred has graciously agreed to continue in his role as a sports anchor and reporter at Local 4 for the next several months while we conduct a comprehensive search for his successor," WDIV news director Neil Goldstein said in an e-mail... RADIO ONE Urban AC WDMK(105.9 KISS FM)/DETROIT, surprised no one, as they replaced veteran drivetime air personality JOHN MASON with SUPERADIO's syndicated WENDY WILLIAMS SHOW. WENDY debuted in afternoon drive yesterday (7/31). MASON's future plans are still up in the air. He had been with RADIO ONE since he left CLEAR CHANNEL Urban WJLB in 2001. (Tue 8/1)
