Michigan Association of Broadcasters Foundation Broadcasting Career Builder Conference to Offer a “How To” Guide for Growing in the Broadcasting Profession
Students, broadcasters and professionals interested in developing a career in the broadcast industry have a unique opportunity to gain insights from leading Michigan professionals during the Broadcasting Career Builder Conference (BCBC), which is being sponsored by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Foundation (MABF). The BCBC will be held from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, at the Lansing Community College West Campus, located at the corner of Sanders Road and Cornerstone Drive in Lansing (Delta Township).
“The Broadcasting Career Builder Conference is a terrific opportunity for anyone in Michigan who wants to get started or advance their career in broadcasting,” said Bill Keith, MAB Foundation Chair. “This event is a rare opportunity to network and learn from a diverse group of some of the leading broadcasters in the state.”
The BCBC will open with a keynote address featuring Mojo from “Mojo in the Morning” which is carried on 95.5 FM WKQI, Detroit. Panel discussions during the day include:
• How to Climb the Mountain 2: Getting Your First Gig;
• Broadcasting Showcase-A look at different kinds of broadcasting jobs;
• Getting the Broadcast Job You Desire;
• Non-Traditional Careers in Television
• From Tech Geek to Broadcast Star-The Importance of Technology in Broadcasting; and
• Non-Traditional Careers in Radio.
The cost of attending BCBC is $20 per person for those who register prior to October 18. Registration is $35 after October 18. A registration form is available on the MAB web site at www.michmab.com.
