Rumors become reality with today's announcement that CBS Radio has jettisoned Shane 'Rover' French off talk WKRK-FM 97.1 and moved Opie & Anthony from mornings at sports WXYT to morning drive at WKRK effective tomorrow morning. Rover's program never found a sizable audience in Detroit in just over 9 months and it only seemed like a matter of time before this change was made after Opie & Anthony took over mornings on WXYT earlier in the summer.
In addition to putting the 'Mike and Mike' program from ESPN radio on for morning drive, WXYT also made another change to its lineup by dropping the mid-afternoon program hosted by Scott 'Gator' Anderson and Dan Wetzel. The change in mornings at WXYT also restores the station to a full-time sports lineup weekdays.

Live 97.1 made a huge mistake taking Rover's Morning Glory off the air. They're one of the best shows I've heard in a long time! Better than Drew and Mike and way better than boring Oppy and Anthony! I refuse to listen to any of Live 97.1 shows. I've gone as far as buying a TV Radio to listen to TV instead of Live 97.1 they've changed their shows way to much to keep me listening!
