Detroit News:

Katie Couric is tap dancing in the No. 1 spot nationally, but locally it's a different song and dance. Her "CBS Evening News with Katie Couric " (6:30 p.m. Mondays-Fridays, WWJ-TV, Channel 62) is still No. 3 in Metro Detroit according to Nielsen's local ratings. ABC's "World News Tonight with Charles Gibson" (6:30 p.m. Mondays-Fridays, WXYZ-TV, Channel 7) and "NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams" (6:30 p.m. Mondays-Fridays, WDIV-TV, Channel 4) are duking it out for first place, with NBC often coming out ahead... Couric can't capture Detroit viewers (Wed 9/20)

Detroit Free Press:

Tuesday's monthly release of the Arbitrend ratings for June, July and August were overshadowed by a posting at the CBS Radio jobs Web site for a general manager for sports talk WXYT-AM -- one of the month's success stories -- and WKRK-FM, a station in the doldrums. Those positions are now held by Rich Homberg, who also runs WWJ-AM, which dropped to 10th place among all listeners, its lowest charting in quite a while... Wanted: Manager for WXYT, WKRK (Wed 9/20)
