Comcast Cable customers will see a major readjustment of the Muskegon and Fremont system's channel lineups beginning Tuesday. In doing so, Comcast will make it more expensive for some fans of local low-power television WMKG Channel 40, which will move from Channel 98 on the basic cable system to Channel 295 on the digital cable system... Local satellite-radio subscribers choose their respective services for a variety of reasons. Loal DJ and Community Media Center employee Jeff Hudson -- who spins under the name Jef Leppard on Thursday nights at the Drink, 81 Ionia Ave. NW -- happened upon his subscription to XM, but is pleased with the service. "It was random chance. I was buying a new car stereo, and it came with XM built in," Hudson said, adding he signed up for the service and loves it... Who pays to listen to radio, and why? (Mon 9/18)

So, who will be "America's Next Top Model"? If you live in Lowell, we have some bad news: You won't be able to watch Tyra Banks' reality TV show. Alberto Martinez could not speak a word of English when he arrived in Holland in the mid-1970s at age 13. "I remember thinking, 'What a beautiful country this is -- why wouldn't I want to be part of it?'" he said. At the time, there were no English as a Second Language classes in Holland. West Michigan viewers finally can get WWMT-TV (Channel 3) in high definition. In addition, Comcast has launched the newly formed network, CW, in HD in Holland and Grand Rapids. The HD channel airs on Channel 233 for CBS primetime programming and sports such as NCAA basketball and NFL football. In addition to a high definition television set, consumers need an HD converter ... Sarah Sell has left WDIV-TV in Detroit as a reporter/anchor and joined WZZM-TV (Channel 13) as a general assignment reporter. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in communications, she moved to Michigan to work at WEYI-TV and WPBN-TV in Traverse City. From there, she headed to Detroit ... WBCT-FM (93.7) raised more than $310,000 during its annual Roofsit for Kids. All funds go toward the prevention of child abuse and neglect. This campaign was difficult for the station because of an accident that injured popular on-air personality David Conrad. He was a passenger in a motorcycle sidecar and was hit by a vehicle on the way to the event... High-definition TV finally comes to West Michigan (Sun 9/24)


Who Will Win WLAV's 'Survive It...To Drive It'?: One MICHIGAN resident will win a two-year lease on a BMW X3 3.0i -- but first they have to win CITADEL Classic Rock WLAV/GRAND RAPIDS' first-ever "SURVIVE IT...TO DRIVE IT" contest. Beginning TOMORROW (9/20) at 7a, five preselected contestants will take up residence in the vehicle at a local dealership. Webcams will catch all the action, which will be viewable at www.surviveittodriveit.com, and every 12 hours a contestant will be voted out by the public. (Yes, the contestants will be fed -- and they can get out of the car for 10 minutes every hour!) The final elimination will be held at 7:20a on FRIDAY during KEVIN MATTHEWS' morning show.
