Kyle Powell, the midday personality and production director for WQHH-FM 96.5, and a sportscaster for WLAJ-TV 53, passed away Tuesday (10/3) of natural causes.

Powell, known by listeners and viewers as "K.P.", was a graduate of Michigan State University, and began work with WXLA/WQHH as an intern before assuming on-air and production duties. He had also added the role of nightly sports reporter for WLAJ's 6pm and 11:30 pm newscasts.

WQHH program director and afternoon personality Brant Johnson observed one minute of silence Wednesday afternoon, in rememberance of Mr. Powell, who was 36. Johnson also asked any listeners who wished to send cards or flowers to address them to WQHH's new studios at 600 West Cavanaugh Road, or to the station's offices at 1011 Northcrest Road in Lansing.
