Detroit News:

No matter what the outcome of the Detroit Tigers' World Series run, the Tigers can now play hardball with their local radio carrier. While the last contract between WXYT-AM (1270) and the Tigers was negotiated when the team was floundering, now the team is more than competitive as talks go on between WXYT's corporate owner CBS and the Ilitches, owners of the Tigers. The contract between 'XYT and the Tigers is up after the World Series... Tigers, 'XYT are set to battle (Thju 10/26)
