Not that I'm a child of the TV generation or anything, but I can still remember the premiere episode of "Julia" from September 1968. "Julia" was the first show to star a black woman, and if this gives you any sense of how long ago 1968 was in cultural years, NBC expected it to get clobbered by "The Red Skelton Show" on CBS. Instead, it clobbered Red and became a Top 10 program... Diahann Carroll can sell a TV show and tickets for a cause (Wed 10/4)
