West Michigan's WayFM wins Station of the Year from R&R

Contemporary Christian WaYfm (88.3 WAYK/Kalamazoo 89.9 WAYG/Grand Rapids) was recently recognized as “Station of the Year” by Radio and Records, the radio industry's leading trade publication. WAYK is the first-ever youth & young adult oriented station to receive this honor, beating out five other stations in its market category to win the distinction.

“This award is voted on by peers,” said Kevin Peterson, Christian Editor for Radio & Records, “which speaks volumes about the respect that Christian radio programmers across the country have for what WAYK is doing in its market and in this industry.”

WaYfm Program Director, Michael Couchman, attributes the station's success to “God blessing WaYfm with great listeners and a great team who loves serving them. We're excited to be the first-ever youth oriented station to get this honor and we'll continue to work hard at reaching them.”
