Christmas comes early for Bill Harris. The affable WJRT (Channel 12) news anchor gets positively giddy discussing the station's 21st annual holiday broadcast, which airs live from The Whiting at 7 p.m. Dec. 16. Harris and co-anchor Angie Hendershot host the one-hour "Holiday Pops," which features conductor Enrique Diemecke, the Flint Symphony Orchestra and guests such as the Flint Festival Chorus and Flint Jubilee Gospel Chorale performing seasonal selections ranging from "The Twelve Days of Christmas" to the "Hallelujah Chorus" from Handel's "Messiah"... WFBE Raises 9,510 Pounds Of Food:
Congrats to CITADEL Country WFBE (B95)/FLINT, MI for raising over 9,510 lbs. of non-perishable items for the FOOD BANK OF EASTERN MICHIGAN. WFBE camped out at a local car dealership for three days while urging listeners to drop off items or make cash donations. The station's goal of 9,510 lbs. was not only met but exceeded! (Tue 12/5)
Delta College has named its television station's new program manager. Joseph Yezak of Bay City will lead the four-member department responsible for planning and implementing more than 28,000 hours of programming on Channel 19, WDCQ. The Northern Michigan University graduate joins the crew after working as a senior promotions producer at Channel 5, WNEM. He also has worked at stations in Montana, Kentucky and Battle Creek... Yezak joining WDCQ (Sat 12/9)
