It's now official- Cumulus will be acquiring eight stations from Clear Channel in Ann Arbor and Battle Creek in exchange for a station in Canton, Ohio.
In Ann Arbor, Cumulus will be reacquiring the four station cluster that it sold to Clear Channel in 2000. Those stations include Country WWWW-FM 102.9, Adult Alternative WQKL-FM 107.1, Sports WTKA-AM 1050, and Talk WLBY-AM 1290. Only WTKA has the same format as it did when Cumulus last owned the stations.
Across I-94 in Battle Creek, Clear Channel gives up Soft Rock WBXX-FM 95.3, Classic Rock WRCC-FM 104.9, News/Talk WBCK-AM 930, and Sports WBFN-AM 1400. Cumulus will then donate WBFN to Family Life Broadcasting as it would be one station over the ownership cap limit in Battle Creek with the acquisition. Cumulus currently owns Top 40 WKFR-FM 103.3, Rock WRKR-FM, and News/Talk WKMI AM 1360 in Kalamazoo/Battle Creek.
Family Life Broadcasting currently owns daytimer WUNN AM 1110, licensed to Mason, that simulcasts WUFN-FM 96.7 Albion in addition to WUFL AM 1030 Detroit and WUGN-FM 99.7 Midland.
