Radio Format Changes: May 2006 Archives

* WJOH FM 91.5 Raco/Sault Ste. Marie has signed on with programming from Contemporary Christian 'Smile FM' based out of WLGH FM 88.1 Lansing.

* WMJZ FM 101.5 Gaylord dropped its Oldies format in favor of Variety Hits as 'Eagle 101.5, We Play Everything'.

* WKOQ FM 92.5 Newaygo flipped from a simulcast of Active Rock WKLQ FM 107.3 Greenville/Grand Rapids to Classic Country.

* WHTS FM 105.3 Coopersville/Grand Rapids dropped its Classic Country format in favor of Hot Adult Contemporary / Adult Contemporary Hits as 'Hot 105.3 FM'.


* WOUF FM 92.1 Beulah has dropped its simulcast of Fort Bend Broadcasting sister Country WLDR-FM 101.9 Traverse City and now has carries a 'Texas Country' format.


* Programming on new sign-on WTCK FM 90.9 Charlevoix is being provided by Religious (Catholic) WDEO AM 990 Ypsilanti. WTCK is owned by Broadcasting for the Challenged but is apparently being operated by a group associated with the Gaylord Diocese of the Catholic Church called Baraga Broadcasting.


* WIKB AM 1230 Iron River has dropped its simulcast of Adult Contemporary sister WIKB-FM 99.1 and has returned to an Oldies format. WIKB AM/FM previously simulcast Oldies for a number of years before changing to soft rock last last year.
