Mulhern says, “I love doing live radio. The interaction and immediacy with great guests and the listeners is a thrilling experience and I’m looking forward to a daily fix.”
“Dan is the perfect companion for the ride home. He’s one of those guys that make you feel good every time you interact with him,” MTN General Manager, Tim Hygh commented. “We think Dan’s show will be a perfect mix of current events, advice and humor.”
The show will focus on leadership’s role in current events. Mr. Mulhern is a natural born problem solver. The “Dan Mulhern Show” will give listeners practical advice on how to be a leader at work, home and their community. Mulhern has a unique vantage point of being able to view the best business practices used by Michigan companies. He has just been named chair of the Governor’s aggressive Next Michigan economic plan entitled the Next Great Companies Project (NGCP). The project will bring together CEO’s and business academics to accelerate the spread of great workplaces with their beneficial effect on a company’s bottom line.
Like all good leaders, The First Gentleman will not shy away from tough topics that face his Michigan based listeners. “I’m certainly putting myself out there to talk about the news and issues of the day. In today’s charged environment I suppose that means the good, the bad and the ugly”, says Mulhern “I just hope to balance the parts heat with parts light.”
In addition to his continued public service, Dan Mulhern has exciting plans for his private career as a leadership consultant. Mr. Mulhern has authored a book entitled “Everyday Leadership: Getting Results in Business, Politics and Life.” The book, published by the University of Michigan Press, hits the bookshelves March 1, and offers insight and guidance for “everyday” leaders, whether they are CEOs, principals, pastors or parents. Mulhern has committed to donate a dollar from every book sold to support the work of Mentor Michigan.
