Michael Shumpert didn't build his pyramid out of brick or stone. He opted to build a pyramid of music for jazz and blues lovers. "Jazz and blues have a deeply rooted history among African-Americans," said Shumpert, one of the few black owners of a radio station. "This is a great gift that we have been given as a people, and I want to keep reminding people that this is great music. I'm obligated to do this." Shumpert, president and chief executive officer of Praestantia Broadcasting, the company that owns WOWE-FM (98.9), takes a cue from the building of the Egyptian pyramids...
