Toledo Blade:

Bobb Vergiels may be the only person in sports who loves to be booed. About 36 times per year, Vergiels is greeted with a hardy heckle from Toledo Storm fans when he announces his own name at home games. But Vergiels, who began his career as a public address announcer when the team was founded in 1991, has formed a unique bond with the fans at the Sports Arena. Vergiels has since parlayed his first PA duties into a career that has taken him to Comerica Park and the World Series last fall. He also has announced at the All-Star game there in 2005... Versatile PA announcer keeps busy (Sun, 1/14)

A new program director is apparently making a difference at WWWM-FM (105.5). Kirk Patrick was hired by the Cumulus-owned station in late September, made some tweaks to what he calls a "musical smorgasbord" format, and took the reins of the afternoon drive shift. The mixture added up to the best audience share the station's had since last winter... Changes at 105.5 add up to higher numbers (Sat, 1/13)

Detroit Free Press:

After a week of Motor City saturation -- a story about Detroit a night -- "Inside Edition" anchor Deborah Norville may not need much introduction to her show's viewers at its new time slot, 4:30 p.m. weekdays on WDIV-TV. (Her show previously aired at 1 a.m. on WXYZ-TV, Channel 7). But she turned into a Chatty Cathy the other day after taping her show here, spouting lots of stuff not that evident just from watching... 'Inside Edition's' Deborah Norville reintroduces herself to Detroit (Sun, 1/14)
