Michigan Farm Bureau (MFB) recently named Michigan Farm Radio Network (MFRN) director Janelle Brose its 2006 Broadcast Communicator of the Year. She was nominated for her statewide agricultural coverage by the Bay County Farm Bureau. She was recently honored at the 87th MFB Annual Meeting in Grand Rapids.
The Monroe native grew up participating in 4-H and took that interest with her to Michigan State University where she graduated in 2002 with a degree in agricultural and natural resources communications. Brose was an intern with Michigan Farm Radio Network while attending MSU and joined the network full time in 2003 as assistant farm director. She was promoted to her current position in 2004.
