Obit: Allan Stagg, 55, Morning host and program director WRCC 104.9 Battle Creek

StaggJuris H. Josts, aka Allan Stagg, 55 of Marshall, died Monday, January 1, 2007 at Battle Creek Health System. He was born August 28, 1951 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of Hermans Alfreds and Anna Julianna (Strautins) Josts. Allan was involved in radio broadcasting for 40 years, starting with WLAV in 1965 in Grand Rapids as George Jay. He had also worked at WMAX, WXTV and WGRD in Grand Rapids. He then worked at WZZM in Grand Rapids as George Stagg, as well as WAFT in Grand Rapids, WSAM in Solsa, WVIC in Lansing, WBCM in Bay City, WTRX in Flint, WCAR, WDEE, WOMC, and WABX all in Detroit, KAZY in Denver and KVMT in Vail. He then worked at KINK and KGON in Portland, Oregon as Allan Wolfe, and later at WCKG, WLS, WXCD and WDRV in Chicago as Alan Stagg. He was currently working at WRCC Rock 104.9 in Battle Creek. On May 1, 1990 he was married to Catherine A. Stutz in Chicago, Illinois, who survives. Also surviving are 5 sons: Luc, Levi, Dio, Deuk, and Drac Josts all of Marshall. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home in Battle Creek, on Saturday, January 6th from 1 to 3 p.m.. Memorial Contributions may be directed to an educational fund that will be established for his sons.
