Barber Clipped From WPRO Lineup:
ALL ACCESS hears that DAVE BARBER has exited the 9-11:45a slot at CITADEL Talk WPRO-A/PROVIDENCE. All mentions of BARBER, the veteran of DETROIT and FLINT talk radio, have vanished from the WPRO Web site, which lists no host for the time slot. And ALL ACCESS hears that this could mean the return of JOHN DEPETRO, still on the beach after being fired by WRKO-A/BOSTON, to the PROVIDENCE market. Meanwhile, BARBER, whose resume includes stints at WTRX-A, WTAC-A. WFDF-A, WWCK-A, and WEYI-TV/FLINT, MICHIGAN TALK RADIO NETWORK, and WXDX-A/DETROIT, is now available for the next challenge. (Wed, 2/7)
Geronimo Exits WFBE:
CITADEL Country WFBE/FLINT MD/morning personality DAVE GERONIMO has exited. We're also hearing that a veteran Country programmer has already been tapped as his replacement. (Tue, 2/6)
Dave Barber was fired by a radio station in Rhode Island this week, nearly a year after the controversial former Flint talk show host signed on there. Barber, who could not be reached for comment, was dropped by WPRO-AM in Providence, R.I., on Monday. "I'm shocked. Dumbfounded. I'm completely besides myself about this," he told the Providence Journal in a story published Wednesday... Rhode Island radio station fires Barber (Thu, 2/8)
