Detroit News:

John Mason wanted to see the NBA All-Star Game last year in Houston, and he couldn't get in. Couldn't get close, in fact: No pass, no ticket, not even a significant conversation with a scalper. This weekend, the Detroit Pistons' public address announcer will be courtside in Las Vegas, with the best seat and loudest speakers in the house. At the request of the NBA, and to his little-kid delight, he's the voice of all three all-star related games... DEE-troit's Mason sets standard for NBA (Fri, 2/16)

It's Friday, which means it's time to put on my detective hat and answer a few more questions from my wonderfully curious and devoted readers. This week, several readers inquired about former WDIV-TV (Channel 4) sports anchor FredMcLeod . After 17 years with the station, McLeod left in December for a sports play-by-play gig with the Cleveland Cavaliers... McLeod lands basketball gig (Fri, 2/16)

In an explosive interview with WKQI-FM's (95.5) "Mojo in the Morning" show this morning, Eminem's ex-wife Kim Mathers flipped the tables on Em and cleaned out her closet live on the air for all to hear... Kim Mathers slams Eminem in radio interview (Fri, 2/16)

Detroit Free Press:

Eminem’s daughter had her radio tuned to the “Mojo in the Morning” show one day in early 2002 when she heard talk about rumors involving her baby-sitter and her dad. On a lark, the Detroit rapper dialed the station’s request line, got on the air with the startled DJs and proceeded to set the record straight. That impromptu chat was the start of an offbeat but fruitful relationship for Farmington Hills radio station WKQI-FM (95.5), which on Friday morning landed its latest blockbuster call-in from Slim Shady’s personal kingdom: a spicy interview with ex-wife Kim Mathers. Speaking with host Mojo and his on-air crew, Mathers dished hard on her ex, accusing him of losing interest in their kids, lying about ongoing drug addiction and even being bad in bed... WKQI-FM gets low-down from Eminem and ex (Fri, 2/16)

To be feted: Radio personality Frankie Darcell of WMXD-FM (92.3) at the Ford-employees African-Ancestry Network's (FAAN) 26th Annual Black History Month Celebration. Darcell will receive the 2007 Community Service Award... Names and Faces (Fri, 2/16)
