WYCD finishes radiothon for kids' hospital

Country WYCD-FM 99.5 listeners pledged $572,209 during the station's two-day radiothon, which wrapped up yesterday evening. The money raised goes to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. St. Jude's focuses on finding cures and saving children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases and serves patients from across North America.

The funny thing about answering questions for readers is invariably there is always another query or two that pops up as a result. For instance, a couple of weeks ago, several readers asked about WDIV-TV (Channel 4) morning anchorwoman Rhonda Walker . After minor surgery, Walker returned to work Feb. 1 following a nearly two-month leave. While she was out, weekend anchor and San Jose, Calif., native Ama Daetz filled in for her. When Daetz first joined WDIV, she shared the desk with reporter/ anchor Jeff Vaughn, who hasn't been on for about a month... WDIV anchors' absence clarified (Fri, 2/9)
