The Michigan Association of Broadcasters’ (MAB) Foundation recently elected officers to lead the MABF Board of Directors during the 2007-08 year. New officers were elected at the March 13 MABF meeting, held during the Great Lakes Broadcasting Conference and Expo in Lansing. Officers, who are elected to a three-year term include:
Chairman Gary Reid, Vice Chairman/Chairman Elect Bruce Goldsen, Secretary/Treasurer Charles F. Ganzert, PhD, and Immediate Past Chairman Bill Keith.

Jennifer Mefford, General Sales Manager, WCSX-FM (Detroit) Greater Media Detroit
Sarah Norat Phillips, President/General, WMYD-TV (Detroit)
Chairman Gary Reid, Director of Undergraduate Studies for the Department of Telecommunication at Michigan State University, and General Manager of WDBM-FM. Reid has taught in a variety of areas including all of the audio/radio courses, video production classes, both undergrad and graduate technology classes as well as media management courses. As Director of Undergraduate Studies for the Department of Telecommunication, he oversees the academic programs of approximately 500 majors and administers the Careers and Internships Program. Reid was one of the original three people promoted to the rank of Senior Academic Specialist when the University created the position.
Vice Chairman/Chairman Elect Bruce Goldsen, President and General Manager of WKHM-AM/FM and WIBM-AM/Jackson Radio Works in Jackson, Michigan. Goldsen has worked as Program Director at WIVY-FM, Jacksonville Florida; WTFM, Kingsport, Tennessee; and WINE, Danbury, Connecticut. He worked with Friends Communication from 1990 until he purchased WCFX, Mt Pleasant in June of 2000. Goldsen has also served on the board of directors and campaign co-chair for the Lenawee United Way, chairman of the Lenawee County WalkAmerica for the March of Dimes, and as President of the MAB Board of Directors in 1998, after serving as director for approximately five years.
Secretary/Treasurer Charles F. Ganzert, PhD, an Associate Professor at Northern Michigan University as well as the Faculty Advisor for the student station, WUPX-FM.
Dr. Ganzert worked with WYSO, Dayton, Ohio, in programming, public affairs and production. While at WYSO, he produced a series, which was awarded the Ohio
Educational Broadcasters Program of the Year Award in 1986. Dr. Ganzert teaches in the Communication and Performance Studies Department.
Immediate Past Chairman Bill Keith, Station Manager of WSDP-FM with the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools. While at WSDP, Keith has served in many positions on the Board of the Michigan Association of Educational Broadcasters, including President since 2001. Prior to working at WSDP he was an Account Executive at WGRY in Grayling, Michigan.
