WRIF’s “Drew & Mike” auction Bob Seger tickets to benefit Grant children’s fund

Rock WRIF's 101.1 morning duo, Drew & Mike, auctioned off a pair of front row Bob Seger tickets live on the air this week, earning $2,600 for the Grant Children’s Fund.

The tickets that were auctioned are for tonight’s sold out Seger show at Cobo Hall. The highest bidder was Erica Zarzycki of Garden City at a whopping $2,600. The tickets were donated to Drew & Mike by Live Nation, Punch Enterprises, and Bob Seger. The show promises to be well worth it, as the entire show is being recorded and the promise of a Kid Rock appearance has been mentioned by Mr. Rock himself.

Contributions in memory of Tara Grant or for the Grant children can be made to the Grant Children's Trust Fund, c/o Warren Bank, at 38880 Garfield Road, Clinton Township, MI 48038, or arranged by phone at (586) 416-1650.

Detroit Free Press:

CBS-owned WKRK-FM (97.1), reeling in the ratings since it lost Howard Stern at the end of 2005, is trying to rebound by restructuring its mid-morning lineup by adding Toledo talk sdhow host Johny D. According to the Toledo Blade, he'll fill the 9-11 a.m. weekdays slot starting April 2. Presumably, Jay Towers will move to fill the 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. but station GM Kevin Murphy was in a meeting and said through a spokeswoman he couldn't talk about the situation until Thursday morning... WKRK to add former Toledo voice (Thu, 3/15)
