WDFN scores rare interview with hockey villain Claude Lemieux

Sports WDFN AM 1130 has announced that it has secured an exclusive interview with former NHL player Claude Lemieux. The interview will air on the Jamie & Brady Show, heard weekdays from 6am to 9am, at 8:35am on Thursday, March 22nd and will also be able to be heard via podcast on by late afternoon.

Lemiux, notorious for his illegal hit on Detroit Red Wing Kris Draper during the 1995-96 NHL season and catalyst in the brawl between the Red Wings and Colorado Avalanche the following year, amassed 785 points including 379 goals in addition to over 1700 penalty minutes throughout his 20-year career.

The interview marks the 10-year Anniversary of the now infamous brawl between bitter rivals, The Detroit Red Wings and Colorado Avalanche.

Miller Time for WDTK

News-Talk WDTK AM 1400 announced yesterday that The Dennis Miller Show will debut March 26 from 6 – 9 p.m. weekdays. A new product of Westwood One, Dennis Miller will air on more than 80 stations and in seven of the top 10 markets including Salem’s KRLA-AM Los Angeles, WIND-AM Chicago, WNTP-AM Philadelphia, KSKY-AM Dallas, and WDTK-AM Detroit.

Joe Davis, COO of Salem commented, “Dennis Miller is a self-proclaimed 9-11 conservative with an engaging style and a quick wit that our listeners will appreciate. He is an entertainer, he is smart, and he understands politics and current affairs. Salem is the largest station group carrying The Dennis Miller Show. Other Salem stations airing the new program include KKOL-AM Seattle, KYCR-AM Minneapolis, KNUS-AM Denver, and WORL-AM Orlando. In Detroit, WDTK’s weekday line-up of nationally syndicated talk show hosts includes:

Bill Bennett’s Morning in America – 6 - 9 a.m.
The Laura Ingraham Show – 9 a.m. - Noon
The Dennis Prager Show – Noon – 3 p.m.
The Michael Medved Show – 3 – 6 p.m.
The Dennis Miller Show – 6 – 9 p.m.

In his first ever radio show, five-time Emmy award winner and four-time Writers’ Guild award winner, Dennis Miller will offer his unique take on the day’s topics with comedy and satire. The daily talk show also will feature Miller taking listener calls, as well as interviewing high-profile special guests.

After six seasons as the Weekend Update anchor on Saturday Night Live, Dennis Miller has become a household name through an eclectic mix of television, cable, film and sports broadcasting platforms. The Santa Barbara resident, who had a nine year run on the HBO live talk show “Dennis Miller Live,” also has written and starred in six solo one-hour HBO comedy specials. He was the host and executive producer of CNBC’s “Dennis Miller,” a topical interview talk show, has starred in various feature films, written a series of bestselling 'Rant' books, and provided color commentary for ABC's “Monday Night Football.”

It was 12:30 Friday afternoon, and those driving through the Bloomfield Hills area with their radios tuned to 88.1 FM found themselves on a trip down memory lane as DJ Corey Berkowitz played everything from vintage Aretha Franklin to the Beatles. "It's time to rock out on the Biff," Corey, a junior from Andover High School, told his WBFH listeners before playing "September" by Earth, Wind & Fire. WBFH, better known as the Biff, is the student radio station for Andover and Lahser high schools in the Bloomfield Hills Schools District. Brent Dingman Named GSM At Ann Arbor Radio:
Effective MARCH 26, BRENT DINGMAN is new the new GSM for ANN ARBOR RADIO’s four radio stations: Country WWWW (W4 COUNTRY), AAA WQKL (107ONE), Sports Talk WTKA and Talk WLBY (1290 AIR AMERICA). DINGMAN comes to ANN ARBOR RADIO from MUSKEGON, where he was Sales Mgr. for CITADEL BROADCASTING.
