On March 1st, AM stations in Lapeer and Caro both modified their formats, with both changes involving the country format.

In Lapeer, Regent Communication's AM 1530 changed its format from Adult Standards to ABC Radio's "Real Country" format which positions itself as "Today's Stars and the Legends". The station also changed its call sign from WLSP to WLCO.

Further north along the M-24 corridor in Caro, Edwards Group's WKYO AM 1360 dropped its affiliation with ABC's Real Country and shifted to a Classic Country format. Brad Morgan, WKYO and WIDL-FM 92.1 program director and operations manager, tells Michiguide.com that station staples such as The WKYO Trading Post, and The Birthday Bag remain unchanged with the shift in music. WKYO also will also continue to feature local news, community events, local sports, weather, and farm programming. WKYO has served the Tuscola County area for over 40 years.
