Grand Rapids Press:

Program director and morning show talent Len O'Kelly of WFGR-FM (Oldies 98.7) has the right idea: "We are getting rid of satellite-delivered ABC programming and going all local," he said. The changes started bright and early Monday. The music mix is different, most on-air talent's been changed, new jingles jangle the air waves and localism is the name of the game. "It will sound like a brand new station," O'Kelly said... Oldies station goes local (Sun, 3/15)


The Michigan Association of Broadcasters gave out its 2006 Broadcast Excellence "Station of the Year" awards on March 14 in Lansing. The awards are based on the cumulative number of points scored from the broadcast excellence competition's 13 categories. WOOD-TV (Channel 8) received its fifth consecutive Station of the Year award from MAB... WOOD-TV named station of the year (Sun, 3/15)


Tune in to WLHT-FM (95.7) from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturdays to hear John Gonzalez, Press Entertainment Editor and creator of Gonzo's Top 5, and Gerry Barnaby, former reporter at WOOD-TV (Channel 8) and WOTV (Channel 4) on their new radio show. This weekend marks their fourth program, and their on-air rapport has been great fun... 'Barnaby & Gonzo' take to the air (Sun, 3/25)
