Grand Rapids Press:

As always, WGVU-TV (Channel 35) is on the hunt for donations of items for its annual auction -- but this year's event is going to be much different. Gone are the days of the lights, camera and action of live auctioneering. The auction is moving online ... Shelley Irwin, host of WGVU's radio morning show (9-11 a.m weekdays), earned a master's degree and practiced for 15 years as a physical therapist before getting into broadcast journalism. "I took the risk six years ago, attending the Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts and getting my feet very wet at WJR radio and WXYZ-TV in Detroit," she said. Now, she is a four-time winner of the Gracie Allen Award from American Women in Radio and Television for Individual Achievement as program host. Irwin was selected from a record-breaking number of entries based on her entry's high quality in writing, production and programming... WGVU-TV moving annual auction online (Sun, 3/4)

"Come On Over," the locally produced children's TV show, has made its mark in the Nielsen ratings of TV viewership. The show that debuted in October on WOTV (Channel 41), an ABC affiliate, made its first appearance in November in diaries kept by viewers and beat out two other kids' shows on FOX-TV and CBS-TV in its 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning time slot... Kids show gets kudos (Sun, 3/4)
