Hurley Medical Center, a Children's Miracle Network Hospital, raised $94,238 during its seventh annual Radiothon April 19-22. The contributions were considered a triumph considering Michigan's economic challenges, said Linda Tracy-Stephens, CMN's director. The Radiothon, organized by WIOG-FM (102.5), brought in 17 percent more than in 2006, and broadcasters shared success stories about Hurley patients... If sunshine and nice temperatures greet residents this weekend, Cindy Althoff won't mind taking the credit. The 25-year-old Minneapolis native debuts at 8 a.m. Saturday as a meteorologist for Channel 5, WNEM, after two years at a North Iowa television station. Althoff admits, however, that moving into a new environment and settling into her second weather job has divided her attention as far as monitoring mid-Michigan's climate patterns...
