Lansing/Jackson: Newsmakers Apr 15, 2007

Lansing State Journal:

Imagine local television at its largest and loudest. Put hundreds of people and thousands of items into one studio. Range from expensive vacations to cheap dinners; on occasion, add art, romance and stud service. Now you have the WKAR (Channel 23) auction, ready for its 30th year. That starts with:
• The artwork, which goes on display Tuesday at Meridian Mall. More than 30 once-identical tables (see story, Page 5D) were transformed by top local artists. "It's hard to say no to the girls from WKAR," joked Gijsbert van Frankenhuyzen, who emerged with both a table and an acrylic painting.
• The auction, starting next Sunday... WKAR auction enters 30th year (Sun, 4/15)
