Detroit News:

The next time Rod Allen is working a Tigers game, listen carefully. Allen, color analyst for Tigers telecasts, is fun to listen to and insightful. He might be the best color analyst in Motown. Allen, a former Tigers outfielder, is so good at telling you what's going to happen before it actually does. Although Allen technically was wrong, his best example came about a year ago... Allen has the gift of foresight (Wed, 4/4)

You have to give it up for fans and viewers of local newscasts. They notice everything and are always armed with questions about their favorite anchors and reporters. For instance, one reader called me as soon as he stopped seeing WXYZ-TV (Channel 7) reporter Val Clark on the air. No worries, my dear reader. Clark has been doing a lot of weekends, covering for reporter Heather Catallo , who has been out on maternity leave. Now that Catallo has returned, you will be seeing a lot more of Clark during the week, Grace Gilchrist, WXYZ's vice president and general manager assures us... Channel 7's Val Clark to return to weekdays (Wed, 4/4)

Her heady nocturnal mix of sweet sounds, from classic techno to Curtis Mayfield to Nick Cave to Alice Coltrane, provided a perfect soundtrack for insomnia, all-nighters and hookups... Motor City Cribs- Liz Copeland's studio space (Wed, 4/4)
