Michigan Television, the public television service from the University of Michigan, has been added to the channel line-up for Charter Cable in the Midland and Bay City markets, effective Saturday, April 21. The station will air on channel 16.

This addition brings Michigan Television to an additional 25,000 households that subscribe to Charter Cable, the primary cable provider in the Midland and Bay City areas. Michigan Television is also carried on Comcast Cable, Bright House Networks, and WOW Cable systems throughout Southeast Michigan.

“Michigan Television is committed to providing programs that educate and enlighten as they entertain,” said Station Manager Jennifer White. “We’re happy we have the opportunity to bring our station to a whole new audience in the Midland and Bay City areas.”

Michigan Television is a member of PBS, and acquires programs from other sources as well. The station also produces award-winning local programs and documentaries, which have recently received five Broadcast Excellence Awards from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters.
