Michelle McKormick has been busy since being fired from WKRK-FM (97.1) in Detroit on Christmas. She was well-known in our area as the morning co-host at Clear Channel's WVTI-FM (96.1), now WMAX-FM. "I've been doing shows all over the country (voiced from studios in Grand Rapids). Been offered jobs in California, Las Vegas and The Playboy Channel. I'm just waiting for the right thing," she said... McKormick staying busy, eyeing job prospects (Sun, 4/22)

Gerry Barnaby, feature reporter and public relations man, has found new challenges since he was fired from WOTV/WOOD in December. Listeners can hear him every Saturday on WLHT-FM (95.7) from 7 to 10 a.m. with John Gonzalez, Entertainment editor at The Press... Gerry Barnaby branching out (Sun, 4/22)

Mary Eileen Lyon, former news anchor for WZZM-TV and WWMT-TV (Channel 3) and current assistant vice president for news and information services at Grand Valley State University, continues to be an award winner. She has won four Videographer Awards, an international awards program directed by communication professionals to honor those who are raising the standards in the industry... WZZM-TV (Channel 13) on-air promotional spots for 13 XRad 3-D weather leave some of us confused. What exactly is 3-D weather? Chief meteorologist George Lessens explains: "It is the first 3-D radar display in Grand Rapids, giving you a three-dimensional look inside a storm. Like a 'CAT scan,' we can slice through severe weather, revealing the most accurate 3-D view of a thunderstorm"... 3-D weather delivers slices of storms (Sun, 4/22)
