Educational Media Foundation puts Detroit-area translator on-air

W288BK FM 105.5 Rochester Hills is now broadcasting, carrying the programming of classic rock WQUS FM 103.1 Lapeer. The station filed with the FCC for its license to cover this week specifying it would be translating WQUS, which is owned by Regent Broadcasting.

Hearing WQUS on this translator is somewhat of a surprise as the original application for the station specified the translator would be carrying the signal EMF's WAKL FM 88.9 Flint. WAKL is programmed with the Contemporary Christian 'K-Love' format.

W288BK's 12 watt transmitter is located near downtown Rochester, but can be heard clearly as far away as the northwest corner of Sterling Heights.
