"Home Improvement with Murray Gula" added to WDFN

Sports WDFN AM 1130 has announced the addition of a Detroit radio staple to its weekend lineup, home improvement guru Murray Gula. "Home Improvement with Murray Gula" will air Saturday and Sunday mornings from 8 to 10 am on WDFN.

Gula has been answering home improvement questions for 20 years as a broadcast veteran and building expert and is currently a featured expert on home improvement issues for WXYZ TV-7.

A native Detroiter and Director of the Michigan Construction Protection Agency, a nationwide notice and lien processing service, Murray has spent over 35 years in the building industry as a Master Electrician, Licensed Builder and Building Inspector.

Whether it’s help with a remodeling project, building a new home or addition, or simply answering questions about electrical, plumbing, insulation and just about anything else in the home improvement and repair universe, Murray Gula is the guy for metro Detroiters.



WRIF sets details for 9th Annual HarleyFest

WRIFRock WRIF-FM 101.1 has unveiled details of the 9th Annual Motor City Harley Davidson Harleyfest. The event, sponsored by Miller Lite and Motor City Harley-Davidson®, will take place on Saturday, June 16th at Freedom Hill in Sterling Heights.

HarleyFest is an all-day event that brings together Harley-Davidson® motorcycle enthusiasts from throughout the state of Michigan to celebrate great music, great food and great bikes. Both bikers and non-bikers are welcome.

Admission to the festival in the park is always free and will feature a live music stage featuring some of Detroit’s hottest local bands. In addition, there will be a “Best of Bike” show for prizes in various categories, a vendor village featuring everything from clothes and jewelry to airbrush artists, plus lots of delicious food and drink, live auctions featuring autographed memorabilia, a day-long live broadcast by WRIF and more. Gates to the park will open at 11am.

In addition, there will be a special Harley-Davidson “Rock-n- Roll Ride for Kids,” which will leave from Motor City Harley-Davidson®, located at 34900 Grand River Avenue in Farmington Hills to Freedom Hill County Park in Sterling Heights, the morning of the event.

Sign-up begins at 9am in Farmington Hills. The will ride leave for HarleyFest, accompanied with a police escort, at 11am sharp. Riders are asked to pay $25 per person to participate in the ride, which provides them with a special Rainbow Connection collector’s pin, parking fees for HarleyFest and a donation to The Rainbow Connection. At 3:00pm, previously qualified WRIF winners will gather on site at the event to see which one of them will drive away with the ultimate Harley-Davidson® prize….a 2007 1200XL Custom Harley-Davidson Sportster and a two year lease on a Ford F-150XLT. The RIFF will be qualifying listeners to win keys for this exciting giveaway on the air, at Harley Fest parties around the city as well as by picking up an entry form at the Harley Fest display at participating Farmer Jack and CVS locations. A portion of the proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Rainbow Connection Over the past eight years; Harley Fest has helped to raise over $290,000 for various charities, including the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Karmanos Cancer Institute.
