As an only child, Rich Spicer spent a lot of time listening to the radio, especially Casey Kasem and the American Top 40. “I made it a point to keep track of where the songs were on the charts,” he laughed. Spicer had no trouble choosing a career. One month after graduating from Alpena High School he started working for local station WATZ. Twenty years later, he’s still at it. “I consider myself very lucky,” he said from his office at The New Mix 96, a radio station that includes WATT 1240 AM and WKAD 93.7 FM Cadillac Oldies...
