The digital transition is a critical issue for television and radio broadcasters, as well as consumers. MAB members attending the annual meeting will hear from industry leaders who will offer insight into making the transition smooth for broadcasters and their audiences. Among the presentations:
Preparing for the Digital Conversion – David Donovan of the Association for Maximum Service Television will provide an update on the status of the digital transition. He will discuss the importance of keeping the over-the-air audience during the transition from analog to digital. The presentation will focus on the need for cooperation.
The Next Generation of HD Radio – Kitsa Lee of iBiquity will discuss how radio stations need to stay ahead of the learning curve by understanding what is next in HD radio technology.
Technically Speaking with NAB’s David Layer - The Director of Advanced Engineering for the National Association of Broadcasters will offer insight into what the national organization is doing to prepare stations for the next generation of broadcast media.
Among other highlights of the MAB Annual Meeting & Leadership Retreat will be the Chairman’s banquet on Tuesday night at which the 2007 Lifetime Achievement Award and Michigan Broadcasting Hall of Fame inductees will be honored. Those being recognized are:
